Hello friends,
It’s been a long time since I’ve posted anything on my blog. Life has been busy – work, kids, and settling into a new neighborhood.
But stuff has been happening, and I do have BIG NEWS.
After 7 years, 3 manuscript edits, countless rejections, and more self-doubt than I’d like to admit, I signed a publishing deal a couple of months ago for the non-fiction memoir I have been working on, thinking about, and posting about for years!
She Writes Press, an award-winning indie publisher based in the US, believed in me and the complicated, messy, human story of my father, and will publish the book in the fall of 2027. Simon & Schuster will distribute the book.
I can’t quite believe it – my head is spinning.
A big thank you to my amazing writing coach, Elizabeth Cohen, my wonderful editor, Samme Chittum, and my agent, Matt Bialer, who diligently pitched my book to publishers for 2 years and was not deterred by the endless “great story, but memoir is too hard to sell” responses from traditional publishers. And of course, thanks to all of you who have supported me along the way – friends, well-wishers from a distance, fellow writers, and lovers of stories. THANK YOU!
It’s a year before the book comes out, but over the next few months leading up to my pub day (slated for October 5th, 2027), I will be sharing more news and updates.
In the meantime, I’m SOOOOOO excited to share a link to my brand-new author website and the official title of my book. Do check it out here:https://anikewariebi.com
Yay.Yay and once again Yay!
